EXHIBITION “Olhar em Pausa”

Visual artist Magda Vicini will be holding a new exhibition opening on March 19th at 7:30 pm, at the Space located at Rua Barão do Rio Branco, no. 318, corner of Rua José Bonifácio in Xanxerê.
After a period of fourteen years without holding an individual exhibition in Xanxerê, having held some group exhibitions during this period, such as at the Foreign Objekt Virtual Gallery (USA) with a group of post-human artists and a solo exhibition in Florianópolis at Galeria Estúdio (Projeto Udesc) in Florianópolis.
According to the review of the works in this exhibition, carried out by professor Dr. in Visual Arts and visual artist Sandra Abello, "Magda's work goes beyond the merely aesthetic field and establishes itself as a device for reflection on the look and everyday experience. By starting from the valorization of everyday experience and the sensitive look, her visual cuts construct a poetic narrative that gives new meaning to the ordinary and gives the viewer back the ability to see. In this sense, her poetics dialogues with the idea that contemporary art shifts the look to what is made invisible by routine. By transforming the banal into an object of contemplation, the artist breaks with the logic of spectacularization and proposes an aesthetic experience based on attention, pausing and listening to the ordinary. By positioning the observer's gaze on the same level as the object, Magda breaks with traditional visual hierarchies and proposes an experience of encounter between subject and world.
The exhibition features the Expographic work of architect Teresa Vicini Lodi, who comments on the importance of this type of project for the proposal of these works that will be exhibited: "The expography proposes an immersion in the artist's universe, creating a dialogue between the works based on the themes and chromatic compositions of the paintings. Furthermore, in Magda's proposal, the green carpet is used, which references the landscape theme present in the artist's most recent works."
Magda emphasizes the importance of having these professionals involved in an art exhibition, as it aggregates and integrates knowledge, offering everything from the event's publicity project, architectural design, and the artist's production. In the case of Visual Communication, designer Bianca Vicini Bonotto says that "Visual communication makes the connection between the artist, the work and the viewer. The visual identity of the exhibition “Olhar em pause” informs, presents a teaser of the universe of the works and awakens curiosity, creating expectations and preparing the visitor for the sensorial and aesthetic experience of the exhibition”.
The exhibition will remain open to the public from March 20th to April 10th, from 1:30 pm to 7:30 pm from Monday to Friday, and on Saturday morning, from 9 am to 7:30 pm.
